Quick setup

Open the workspace

Click the SnipWise extension icon or use the side launcher on normal webpages. The side panel is designed to remain available while browsing.

Refresh current tab context

Open a normal webpage and use Refresh in SnipWise. Some Chrome pages, browser settings pages, PDF viewers, and restricted sites may not allow extension context.

Choose a model

Use Chat for quick conversations and select OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, or Grok. Some models require Pro or Premium.

Use the right section

Image and Code are Premium. Docs are Premium. Data and Science are Pro. Code can accept supported files or zips. Science can accept study/resource files. Flashcards and Library remain available for everyday study and saved work.

Billing and plans

Use the SnipWise settings page or billing portal to manage paid access. If a paid feature does not unlock, refresh plan status, sign into the browser profile that purchased the plan, and confirm ExtensionPay shows your subscription as active.

AI credits

Credits protect service quality and AI provider costs. Short text/page chats use fewer credits. Image generation, code bundles, research documents, and science/source workflows use more. If you hit a limit, wait for the next reset or upgrade to a higher plan.

Location answers

For weather, local time, nearby, or local recommendation questions, allow Chrome location permission when prompted. If you deny it, SnipWise can still answer if you type a city or region.

Documents, files, and zips

Current document upload support is text-first. TXT, Markdown, CSV, and pasted text work best. For scanned PDFs or image-only documents, copy the extracted text into SnipWise or use a text extraction tool first.

Generated code

Always review and test generated code before deploying it. SnipWise may read supported source files or zip/project snapshots and return downloadable files or zip bundles, but generated code can still contain bugs, security gaps, or missing project-specific assumptions.

Privacy troubleshooting

SnipWise sends only the context needed for the feature you run. Disable the page-side launcher in Settings if you do not want the small in-page helper. Avoid submitting sensitive secrets or regulated records.

Common issues

No page loaded

Open a regular website tab and refresh context. Chrome internal pages and some restricted pages cannot be read by extensions.

Provider not configured

If a paid agent says a provider key is missing, the hosted Worker needs the corresponding provider secret added and redeployed.

Image did not generate

Confirm Premium access, enough credits, and that the OpenAI image model/key are configured on the Worker.

Billing link opens store

If the website cannot message the installed extension, it falls back to the Chrome Web Store. Open billing from the extension settings instead.
